Dre embraced the chance to experience new culture, and further hone his craft. Dre was able to learn and exercise specialized scissor techniques, while introducing the influences and styles he picked up during his years at El Coqui and Back To Basics.ĭre gained notoriety for cutting the hair of Professional Athletes and Japanese Entertainers, and he developed a deep appreciation for the barber culture between Eastern and Western hemispheres.Īfter his time in Tokyo, an opportunity arose to live and work in Sicily, Italy. Dre decided to seize the opportunity, and spent the next year at Cold Cuts Barbershop in Tokyo, Japan.ĭre deeply appreciated his time living in Japan, cutting hair alongside one of Tokyo's most progressive barbers. Dre continued to refine his craft, and worked alongside one of the most influential barbers in the U.S.Īfter years of experience in PA, there was an opportunity to explore the Craft of Barbering in Japan. He absorbed an inner city style working with barbers from Puerto Rico.Īfter several years at El Coqui, Dre spent a year at Back to Basics Barbershop. He began cutting professionally at El Coqui barbershop, learning from the most talented barbers in Stroudsburg, PA.
BACK IN TIME BARBER SHOP LICENSE
Dre got his start at home cutting his own hair in the late 90s.Īfter practicing on family and friends for years, Dre decided to turn his passion into a profession, and enrolled to get his Master Barber License in New York City in 2005. Our Story Brand’s Barber Parlor was founded in 2016 by Andres Madrigal Brand, better known as “Dre”.ĭre was born in New York City and raised in the Poconos by immigrant parents from Medellin, Colombia.
